Plans for a new £27 million residential development proposed at the previous Talbot Mill site off Froom Street in Chorley have been submitted by Lancashire-based Baxter Homes.
The scheme, designed by MCK Associates Limited, seeks permission for 126 high-quality dwellings, together with associated infrastructure, for the 10.97-acre site in East Chorley, near the Liverpool & Leeds Canal and the M61 corridor.
Baxter Homes has designed the scheme to deliver a mix of two-bedroom apartments and two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses, while offering improved green spaces for residents.
Callum Baxter of Baxter Homes said: “The site has a long planning history, but with the revised plans, we are looking forward to bringing the development to fruition and addressing local housing needs. In addition, we are hoping that during the construction phases, there will be an economic boost to the area by working with the local supply chain.”
Deborah Smith, of S&L Planning Consultants, which has acted as planning advisers on the scheme, said: “Talbot Mill represents a carefully considered opportunity to deliver high-quality, affordable housing within a connected, sustainable urban edge of Chorley. The proposal builds on previous approvals while incorporating refinements to housing mix, layout, and enhancing deliverability and long-term community benefit.”
